Joan "The Madwoman" and Felipe "The Beautiful"
Joan "The Madwoman" and Felipe "The Beautiful" were born in Lille on August 21, 1496. The physical attraction before contracting nuptials and lust that radiated led to a quick bonding. Obviously it didn't take long for them to have their first baby – Leonor – but as a result of this birth something changed in Philip, it seemed that all love had vanished and began to deceive Joan whenever he could. The chroniclers say that from the birth and infidelities of her husband, Joan was only able to think of one thing: to retrieve it and to re-ignite the flame they had when they married.
Philip I of Castile was followed by a series of theories about his death, including that he was poisoned by his wife. Jealousy was part of Joan's life who did not shed a single tear the day her husband died; however, she always showed that she was devastated. Every day he went to the crypt where Philip was buried and after lunch at the monastery, he would ask the monks to open his coffin to make sure he was still there. Some claim that it was all a conspiracy, others that she killed him, in the end it all remained in a legend.
